About Me

I'm here to participate in the free market exchange of ideas and facts.

Interests

Dance, Law, Mark Cuban's Blog, News, Philosophy, Politics, Theater, World Betterment

Favorite Music

Out of very genre of music I've heard, I like at least one song.

I usually listen to hip hop, musical theater, techno.

Favorite Quote

Eugene Robinson, of THE WASHINGTON POST, writes that John McCain is "shocked and outraged that Wall Street's preening Masters of the Universe threw a drunken toga party and smashed all the furniture -- but he helped buy the beer and told the cops to look the other way."

Mr. Robinson makes a brilliant point with a perfect analogy.

saving our econ : Oct 6, 2008
HOW TO SAVE THE ECONOMY:

--Legalize prostitution: Decrease human trafficking; decrease the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (per regulation); open up new jobs; increase tax revenue; increase consumer confidence; decrease the current dangers of the current underground red light market (unregulated pimps, gang rape, murder, etc.).

--Legalize marijuana: Decrease the strain on our prison system; decrease the racial injustice in our criminal system; DRAMATICALLY increase tax revenue; SUBSTANTIALLY decrease the number of gang-related murders in cities like Detroit and New York and Chicago; open up new jobs; decrease the number of people using marijuana that is laced, which would in turn decrease the easily preventable injuries and deaths related to lacing (per regulation).

--Lower the drinking age to 18: CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, THIS DOES NOT RAISE LEVELS OF DRUNK DRIVING; in fact, most empiricism shows us that a lower drinking age correlates with fewer drunken driving incidents.

--Eliminate the death penalty: The constitutional basis is already there, since the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment (most executions involve severe pain, even when using today's method of lethal injection)... anyways, without the death penalty, states would save millions of dollars-- capital punishment needs its own legal and medical in infrastructure, which wastes hundreds of thousands of dollars for each inmate killed.

In addition:
1) Quadruple funding for public schools. Immediately; not over the next ten years--over the next FOUR years (WITHIN one administration).
2) Mandate age-appropriate sex education (there is an indisputable correlation between such education and economic improvement).
3) Prioritize business scrutiny to large businesses and businesses that are more prone to corruption.
4) Get rid of the unacceptable discrepancy in prison sentencing between possessors, distributors, sellers, and users of CRACK COCAINE and POWDER COCAINE. (Crack cocaine, as opposed to powder cocaine, usually involves more years in jail.)
5) Gradually replace prisons with crime-specific and rehabilitation-specific halfway houses.
6) QUINTUPLE funding for green technology R&D. NOW NOW NOW.
7) Add more libraries and educational opportunities to jails.

These things are SO SO SO simple, but they are politically tricky. However, if they occur, our economy would definitely flourish, even just months after taking effect and becoming official policy.
